I just replaced mine last Sept. Use the normal rotor/pads for an AWD for 1998, unless you want to spend the big bucks for 2000 rotor/pads/calipers. The rear brakes are not as important as the front, so I did not 'up grade'.
Remember to loosen the lug bolts and the E brake cables prior to lifting the rear.
I did get new shoes, springs, and clips to hold the shoes. Things get a bit rusty over the years. Visit your dealer and get new hardware for the cable ends, the 2 metal pieces that spread the shoes. I had assumed, incorrectly, that my cables had froxen when it was the rear buckles(?) that rusted together.
I also connected the large spring first and then pulled the small spring into place with a pair of needle nose. When adjusting the shoes, remember which way the star wheel turns, and tighten the shoes until the wheel stops moving, then back off 2 clicks.
Get a bunch of silicone brake grease, and slather all of the parking brake metal pieces to slow down the rust.
I used the floor jack on the differential to raise the car, and then put 2 jack stands under the chasis. A block of wood on the floor jack keeps the knicks away. The front wheels need to be blocked and the floor level, car in N.
My center hubs started to rust on the outside already :>(
