2001 c70 5 speed - Buy or NO C70 2001

Thinking of buying a 2001 c70 5 speed. 130k, tranny along with clutch replaced at 112k, guy said something hit the bell housing when he was driving and it made a funny sound so he had the whole tranny replaced with an m56h from Erie Volvo. Also had t-belt and water pump done at 110k, car is clean. Had all the work done at by a volvotech. The upgrades are "nineteen inch HRE 547R wheels, 3” ceramic-coated downpipe with 3” race catalytic converter and 2.5” Eurosport Tuning dual exhaust, Upgraded end links on sway bar, OMP Strut Bar, Rica Stage2 Soft Loader, Silica vacuum turbo hoses." With the soft loader he said its running around 18 to 19 lbs in 2nd and above but limited to 15 lbs in 1st. I wanted to know if there any common issues I should look for when going to view the car.

Thanks in advance.

A very fast car. I have no need for 19 inch wheels and 40 tires, too many pot holes. A good chip will always limit torque to 275lbs in 1st.

I don't like 'something hit the bell housing'. That is a part that doesn't move much and usually things hit the oil pan first. But, a new clutch is a good deal.

With compression that high, I would get a compression test. Too much stress on the piston rods and bearings.

The rest of the car sounds good.

Right. He said it was boosting 18 to 19lbs but the last 20k he took the tune off so its between 10-12lbs. He's always had it looked at by the Volvo shop by him, about an hour from me. He seems like he knows what he's talking about. The car is ridiculously clean and he said the tranny was making a sound so he had it replaced along with the clutch because he didn't want to chance anything. He's probably put over $5k into it over the last couple of years. As long as I can get it under $5k I thought it was a good deal, not only being rare but the rims go for $1500 a piece. Whats a solid compression reading?

Compression on a very good engine is 185psi, 175 is OK.

LOL, I would NEVER spend $1500 on a wheel. The standard 17in wheels would have been good enough for me.

The C70 is not 'rare', and it is one year behind the advances of the other cars. It does have the electronic throttle (bad thing), but it also is a 5 speed(good thing).

The interior is unique to the C70. Make sure all of the seat and window electrics operate flawlessly.

Alright thanx. Any yeah the c70 high pressure turbo 5-speeds aren't rare? The automatics are a dime a dozen, but I rarely ever see manual c70 hpts.
