Opinions needed: 2001 - 2005 V70 V70-XC70

Hello V70 Bricksters,

Have a 95 855T with about 180K for the past 10 years and have been very happy but have been considering an upgrade to a V70. From a price perspective I am eyeballing the 2001-2005 V70's. Only "got to have" is that it be a turbo. Any general consensus amongst the V70 crowd as to which of these model years tends to be better or worse from a known maintenance or reliability perspective? In the 850's for example 1996 and 1997 tend to suffer from faulty ABS control modules, etc.

Would appreciate any insight!

Avoid 2001-2002 unless your wallet is fat. 01 has teething problems, 02 didn't fix very many, 03 got better.

Now, the turbo issue. Unless you can find a T5 or R, you will get a low pressure turbo with around 200bhp. The R is AWD, which means you want at least an 04. The T5 is quite fast!

Thanks Klaus. I did not realize that they continued with the low pressure turbo similar to the 1997 850 GLT in these model years. I'm afraid that I've grown quite accustomed to pushing down on the pedal and having my wagon flat scoot....will eyeball a 2003-2005 T5!
