PCV valve or flame trap...

Hello,

I have a V70 AWD 2.5T 2006 and I'm wandering if there are any flame trap/pcv valve to change... On my normally aspired 1995 850, I was changing the flametrap twice a year to make sure it would not clog and then cause some gasket to blow or leak.

Now, I want to do the same on my V70...

Can anyone help ?

Bruno

No trap, not like the old cars. You do have a PCT, a vacuum line that enters the intake just befor the turbo. It also has an electrical connection. That can get grungy, but usually after around 150K miles or so. If you use synthetic engine oil, it should not be a problem.

The turbo should have the valve, follow your intake and you can see the junction. Doesn't normally need to be replaced, a cleaning every 50-75k wouldn't be a terrible idea though..

On your 850, you weren't replacing the plastic screen every six months, were you?

As a side note, changing your oil at recommended intervals will go a long way towards keeping the system free of gunk.

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?
