I've got a right front caliper that is hanging up, not opening fully. Has anyone here had good luck w/ the rebuild kits that are out there?

I've never done it, but might have to shortly (both of my rear calipers aren't moving the way they should..) and it appears the kits are just O-rings and dust caps. Have you called your local dealer to see how much the kits are? If its $12 on FCP, $20 for OEM might be worth it. That said, O-rings aren't too hard to get right, so it should be OK using aftermarket.

I just ordered the rebuilt calipers.
Right front and left rear. The left front was replaced about 50-60k miles ago. The rear one pushes on the inside of the rotor but not the outside. Next project will be struts.

50-60k seems low on a caliper, how often do you change the fluid?

I know you're asking about a kit to rebuild the caliper yourself, but have you considered buying a rebuilt caliper? They are pretty inexpensive and some even come pre-loaded with brake pads. I've bought some from FCP Groton and so far they work fine. There is a core charge, so you have the cost ($12) and inconvenience of having to ship the old one back. You could avoid that by buying from your local NAPA or the like. For me, the challenging part was to disconnect the brake fluid line from the caliper without destroying the nut. Best of luck.

Having done this in years past, I would just get a rebuilt. What does FCP want for one, I got them for my 940, good price, and they work great. Mike
