Chip for my 1996 850 tdi 850

I have just picked up a 1996 850 tdi with a mere 130k (that's km) on it. The car seems to run great, and has power, but I understand I can increase the horsepower 20-30% with a chip. I am looking for advice, first on chipping this car, and second on a reasonable no frills chip. Thanks.

The best chip on the market for a diesel Volvo is UPSOLUTE, in my opinion. But they are not cheap. This is the engine management computer replacement variety, not an additional gizmo that just feeds more fuel. A look at the chart shows bhp increase, torque increase, AND mpg increase! Just remember, my 1998 R has less torque than a 2.5L diesel.

There are no Volvo 850 diesels in the USA. But, the 'chip' you are looking for will increase power, it will also decrease fuel mileage. What the 'cheap' chips do is increase injector flow all of the time, whether your foot is hard on the pedal or not.

So look at Google, but beware of the consequences. Most 'chips' will increase output by 10%.
