check engine won't reset ,down on power 850 1994

For some time I have been reseting my check engine light every three or four weeks or so. the code has been 435. this last time the check engine light came on I can't get any reading at all. no code, not even a 111 . it won't clear or respond to the button. other sockets work and I checked the wire is in the socket. I also noted that the engine is way down on power like the turbo was taken away or something, down 40% no kick at all. the engine and turbo sound great and strong. any ideas? is the engine in a limp home mode because of a computer sensor (polution control)?

Check to see if you have any codes in the A-1 socket (transmission) and replace your front O2 sensor to fix the 435 code (Front O2 slow to respond)

Rich: Thanks so much! that let me reset socket a-2. a-1 had a code 114 I cleared it and thought, was that 113 or 114. my Haynes book doesn't have any transmission codes I was just reading on bay 13 about the "pocket data booklet" I going to order on monday.Does this explain loss of power transmission shifting? or is there a relation with O2 sensor

If your O2 sensor is in need of replacement (your 435 code) then I'd do that, it could have something to do with your power loss depending on the actual failure of the sensor, the transmission, having codes could have caused the car to start in 3rd gear, with all the codes clear does your car still have a problem (besides you know the O2 sensor is bad).?

Rich is very good at this and very kind to do this stuff during his spare time for us. For us it's a weekend thing. For him it's a 24/7 thing. Rich, thanks for all the help. I just finished replacing my headlight lense and it went smoothly. I'm walking out the door to check my washer T.
