I can't get door to release to replace lock mechanism

Drivers door will not open from either side
Having same problem! No noise, no resistance: but lock will go up and down, either manually, with elec. switch, or with key.

Is the door unlocked? Meaning the button is down? If so, grab it with needle nose pliers and pull it up.

Folks,

How did you make out ?
I too have this problem.
Lock goes up and down and it appears to still be attached to the latch mechanism.
Did pulling with needle nose pliers work ?
