ABS sensor installation S70 1998

finally got around to a much needed brake job....managed to break one side of the rear ABS sensor assembly...$145 later, got new sensor...got the pickup side installed, but connecting up the harness end seems to be an impossibility w/o dropping the fuel tank....would rather not get into that can of worms...Chilton/Haynes makes it sound much easier than it is.....any suggestions anybody...weekend now half shot to heck...help MUCH appreciated...

Hi, did this once for 850/94 right rear sensor. I managed to push iron wire down from behind back seat (connectors) when pulling down the old sensor wires, the iron wire end was tied together with old sensor wires.

had considered that option, but fuel lines run right next to this space...worried about puncturing them with any wire I might feed through...appreciate all the input....hi ho, hi ho, it's to the foreign shop I go...

Not sure if this helps, but try doing it in reverse. Connect the harness first then push the other end thru.

I don't even know where the plug is. If you know, then tape the end of the new wires to the far end of the old wires and start pulling until the new wires are where they are supposed to be. ???

harness connects back of the rear seat, behind the interior panels...looks like this harness is installed prior to mounting gas tank when manufactured, no room for the harness end, plug end or a hand to maneuver anything around...resigning myself to dropping it off the foreign place I use occassionally...
