But I don't have a Hanes manual, i normally use Alldata. They do have an inverted picture, but the picture doesn't come out very well. I just called the local parts store hunting a Hanes down, they said they don't have one but it can be ordered and will be in next week... I was hoping to work on it this weekend, but it doesn't look good. I guess patience is a virtue, at least that is what they say...

It's a 99 V70GLT Turbo

Okay i been working on this, pretty much all week in my spare time. I got just about everything back together, Fixed the wiring harness & then with new vacuum, oil & water hoses, etc...

Now i'm on the camshafts... I been at this for a while now... The 850 book says that in "(In the installed position)" "the exhaust camshaft is offset below the center line" and "the intake camshaft is offset above the center line." fair enough...

Since i have the top flipped over (like in the picture)... my exhaust Camshaft offset is actually above the center line & the Intake camshaft is actually below the center line... So when i flip it over it is considered "(in the installed position)". that is the only way my lobes lineup like in the picture...

I dunno know, I think it's time for a beer

You are doing good!!! Beers all around!

The picture is correct, it is upside down so the cams don't fall out, so your logic is correct. The lobes must look like the picture, otherwise you will never get the cam cover on. Remember the crank timing mark must be righ on.

Use the glue sparingly. A small foam roller is the best applicator.
