Brake Pedal Position Sensor V70-XC70 2003

I am now just about 100% certain that my "engine system service required" message and intermittent cruise control issues are both due to a flakey (maybe just dirty?) brake pedal position sensor. It's cheap enough that swapping it out makes some sense to me. How does this thing attach to the brake booster? Is there a picture or some detailed instructions somewhere?

simple, there is a circlip around it. pull out the clip and the sensor comes out easy.
