Recently got new tires and alignment. Should the steering wheel always be off center? It always needs to be turned left a little and it pulls pretty substantially to the right if you let it. Also feels like a bit of vibration. They supposedly balanced the new wheels (tires new, rims old). Should I go back? This was maybe a month ago.

If there is even a hit of shudder with the wheels, bring them back and get them rebalanced. I have been known to do this repeatedly.

Before you go, check all of the tires. I once found a tire that was mounted backwards, the tire had a little arrow indicating direction flow. My current tires say 'this side faces out'.

As for alignment, a tire swap should not cause any alignment problems. Perhaps the kid put the lift on a suspension part and bent it? Most shops do not do alignments, a very expensive machine is needed. A good alignment shop will charge $80-100 for a front wheel drive car.

I felt that the alignment was already bad and I needed new tires too, so I got it all done at once. They did use some special tools that seemed to attach to all four wheels. It cost me $100 for this, so I assumed it was a serious procedure. I think I'll go back and ask them. I mean, the steering wheel, shouldn't it be straight if I want to go straight? And it pulls to the right always. I'll also double check that all tires are mounted correctly..

Then have them re-balance and re-align the wheels. Steering wheel should always be straight and there should not be any vibration from the tires.
