Tips to reinstall water pump? 850

I will be changing the timing belt/ water pump on my daughter's 1996 850 turbo next weekend. The last time I replaced the water pump on my wife's car I have spent more than half of the total time trying to reinstall the water pump from the bottom (there was no space at all!). Is there any way of reinstalling the water pump w/ less time? Thank you for any suggestion/tips.

    From the bottom?

    You get at that stuff by pulling the front passengers side wheel,
    put the car on a solid jack stand.
    Open the access flap in the inner wheel well.
    then you can get at that stuff.
