I replaced the right side front axle a while ago, and now have increasing noise and vibration. Finally noticed that I could grab the axle and slide it out from the transmission. It also slides in the support bearing.

I'm trying to remember if the old axle had a snap ring (new one does not).

Can anyone tell me if the right axle has a snap ring, and what the fit of the support bearing is supposed to be?

    Only the driver's side has a snap ring. The support bearing should be enough to hold up the axle, not keep it from sliding.

    When you tightened the axle nut, it was 88lbs + 60degrees? Did you use any adhesive?
