2007 V70 AWD - A Good Purchase V50 2007

I'm in the market for a new (used) car. Currently have a 2000 V70 XC and she's showing her age. Her ETS is the next thing to go - it has already been replaced once through the recall.

I drove a 2007 V50 AWD today and really liked it. I also drove a 2008 VW Passat Wagon FWD. I really want an AWD wagon and they are hard to find (except for Subaru). Can anyone give me the lowdown on the V50? Is it a good purchase? Any known issues (like the V70 ETS, etc.). Dealer wants $20K. Is that fair? (And any thoughts on a Passat Waggon compared to the Volvo?)

Any insight would be a help in making this decision. Cheers!

The V50 is a fine car, just a little too small for all of the junk I carry. Get on KBB.com and others and find out the trade in value. Make sure that the car has a written maintenance history. If it is a Volvo dealer, get them to include an extended warrantee.

Also check cars.com and autotrader.com to see what other dealers are asking.
