possible replacements V70-XC70

Hello everybody, I just saw a couple of cars on craigslist. One is a 2003 w/133,000 on it for 6500. The other is a 2004 with 126,000 for 9991. Both saw they are great cars. I know that is just the owners talking. I know the 04 had the newer awd system. But what else should I be looking for if I go see these.

Thanks,
Ken

If you are looking for a 'good' XC, don't rely on Craigslist. Get on autotrader and cars.com and look within 100mi of your location. The most important thing to have is maintenance history, not mileage. Expect to spend an additional $1000 to bring the car up to snuff.

You do want the newer Haxdex AWD, the 2003 had problems with the Drivers Information Module (DIM, instrument cluster computer). Xemodex.com has a solution for the new computers, for much cheaper than dealers.

The newer cars are better than the aging V70s, but slightly less room in the rear and the seats are not as comfortable as the 850-S/V70 prior to 2001.

Avoid 'brokers' that buy junk from auctions and make you pay to get autocheck or carfax.
