Brake lines frozen 850 1996

Changing rotors, calipers and pads on my 96' 850 wagon. Car came from up north, after I had ordered all my parts from FCP Groton, I see how bad the calipers are. Turning in to local parts store for core, I cannot get the brake lines off, The bolts have rounded off, after doing my best to be gentle. Any suggestions, I guess channels locks? I have to be done by Monday morning for work.

I used the same quality Craftman made in the USA tools I've used on all my other brake jobs and my Ducati. The lines would not budge, so I cut them. Need replacing anyway. As far as the old calipers, they have lost 30% of their mass due to rust, were not functioning as intended, this car took it hard from road salt. Just my daily driver when it's to wet/cold to ride the moto. I gave a co-worker $900 for it.

Finally broke it free. The fittings to the rubber lines are rusted up pretty bad. I will replace those with some Wildwood braided stainless.

What did you use for a wrench? Don't use and 2nd rate tools.
I just went through that misery with my ex wife's
Honda CRV (Don't ask why I'm working on her car).
I had to put a 6 point box wrench on the bleeder fitting and tap it carefully with a medium hammer. With my fingers crossed. It finally came free when I wire brushed it and gave it some never seez so it will be docile next time.

Channel locks don't sound like my first choice. Plenty of PB spray or mystery oil
soak, then vise grips and the tap with a hammer act. Get someone to rub the beads for you. and/or have new brake hoses ready.

If the bleeder screw is free you can drain the brake fluid and put heat to the
brake hose fitting to the brake line. It should turn OK after heating.
Then do a new brake hose with the new caliper (Not a bad idea anyway.)
Flushing the brake fluid is also a good idea every few years or so.

Don't KILL the brake line connectors! Live with the old calipers for a while, just grease them up real good. Replace the rotors and pads and call it a day.

If you rounded the brake line bolts, they will have to be replaced. The best way to do that is to get new flexible lines. But, please get the proper tool for the job. And Craftsman tools won't work, they are not strong enough. The only wrench I have found to work comes from Snap-On, but they are not cheap.
