Right Front Motor mount - Haynes shows torque plus angle 850 1995

I'm gunna replace this mount because the dealer said it was bad 18 months ago ($318 plus tax!!) . I'm taking action because the top center mount looks horrible like the engine is sliding to the right. Volvospeed procedure make's it sound easy to replace. My Haynes manual page 2a-14 shows a torque and degree value, I'm pretty sure this means I torque it to the Nm and then turn it the extra 60 or 90 degrees as per the Haynes picture. I think I can do this by eye - can't be too critical, I've seen degree wheels for this but don't have one.

BTW I do have a top engine support that spans the fenders with a hook that can hand down and hold the engine (from a old audi clutch change), but Volvospeed says jack up the engine from beneath. The Volvo powersteering bracket area seems to have a hole - is this for holding up the engine?

Merci !

You don't just want to hold the engine but lift it about 1/2 inch. If your top support can do this, great. There is an engine lift bracket, bolted to the block, but I can't say for sure that is what you are looking at.

I prefer a jackstand for the car and a hydraulic jack to gently lift the engine. Put a board between the jack and the oil pan!

I am surprised that Haynes added a degree turn to the non-stressed bolts. 60 degrees is 10 minutes on a clock face.

Um - how much of my lazyness got me the wrong part? 850 1995

I guess I wanted the isolater (#11) not the mount (#10).

I asked for 'right side lower engine mount' . I'm thinking they should have known to send me #11 as that's the part that always fails. The part I got is all metal.

Call taska and ask about the forward engine mount next to the timing belt cover. That should narrow things down a bit. And be a lot cheaper!

That diagram at tasca has me totally confused.

Right spot, but they sent me the all metal piece that bolts to the engine. 850 1995

          Hi KlausC
Not the rubber part that mounts to the subframe. It's got a deep metal V-groove in it #9135179. I'd call it an engine bracket more than a mount but the part I want bolts to this. So I'm disappointed that if there are 2 parts they didn't send me the rubber one that has a reputation for failing? I did dig into the car today and the one i want has this # on it 9135178 and it's collapsed. The part #'s are just one apart 5178 vs 5179.

Now the James guy says it's my fault that I should have asked for the front mount when i asked for the right lower mount - but this piece he sent me is in the right spot (i.e. by timing belt). My volvo dealer even called it 'right side lower engine mount'.

SO I've lost some confident in Tasca. I just asked what's the right part # for the 'right side lower mount' he said 9135179 and this all metal part showed up.
