98 vacuum line and A/C question V70-XC70 1998

Hi,

I discovered that the black hard plastic vacuum line that comes off the aircleaner box does not go anywhere. I went to the junkyard, but all the S70s there were disassembled, or were missing that line.
Could someone tell me where that line goes? It's next to the white hard plastic line that goes to the area by the idle air motor.

My A/C is still giving me fits. It is properly charged, but the ECU won't turn the compressor on. It cools fine if I jump the AC relay connections.
The low pressure switch by the firewall works fine. There is a pressure sensor by the low side port, I tried 3 used switches, so I assume that is not the problem.
Any other ideas before I replace the ECU?
Thanks,

Csaba

That black vacuum line both starts and ends on the aircleaner box. One end is easy to see (near the white line) and the other is down below. Feel around down under and you'll find it.

If I had a NA engined car, I would tell you where that vacuum line goes.

Replacing the ECC (not ECU) might be the fix. But, first, put the vent control on defrost. The AC is supposed to engage when defrosting the windshield.

You might have a bad switch? Does the light come one, green or orange?

You jumped the AC relay, have you thought that the relay might be bad? The fuse is good?

      >But, first, put the vent control on defrost.

      Good idea! I'll try that.

      >You might have a bad switch? Does the light come one, green or orange?

      The green light comes on.
BTW, the HVAC system is supposed to have a self-diagnostic feature, activated by
quickly pushing the defrost button 2 times with the key in the 'I' position. On my car this does not do anything...

      >You jumped the AC relay, have you thought that the relay might be bad? The fuse is good?

Both the relay and fuse have been replaced with new parts, even tho the old ones were fine.
      Thanks,

      Csaba

for kicks and giggles do you know how much charge is in the AC system? Being that...if you jump the pressure switch of course the compressor will engage but in normal operation if the pressure is too low it won't come on.

      Hi,

As I said the pressure switch is fine, and giving continuity (system charged).
I jumped the relay to get the compressor to come on, not the pressure switch.
      Thanks,

      Csaba
