Rattling Noise On Passenger Side 850 95

Thank you Bob and Kosmas Moutis for your insight on the "Check Engine Light' problem. I've got it resolved with the error code 4-3-5, something about oxygen sensor slow response. I've reset the diagnostic system, and it seems to go away..., for now!

I'm bring my car in for service this weekend, but I'd like to know the cause of another problem, so I can speak intelligibly to my mechanic.

Whenever I drive into rough roads, there is a continuous rattling and sqeaky noise on the front passenger side, outside of my car. Is this a very serious problem? should I get it fixed immediately? I can imagine the cost to be three/four hundred dollars easily (:-<)

Thanks.

Re: Rattling Noise On Passenger Side 850 95

Sounds like either the sway bar end link or upper strut mount, both often reported problems on these cars. Upper strut mount is more involved as the strut has to be removed for the mount to be replaced. If it's the sway bar end link, certain model years have a separate link that can be replaced while others require replacement of the bar. I have had this rattling for the last three years and haven't done anything about it yet as I seldom drive on rough roads and when I do it is not that bad.
