I rarely see them on 850s-- were they standard, an accessory, do they fall right off, what's the story?

Mudflaps front or rear were never standard equipment on front wheel or all wheel drive models of any year. Dealer installed option.

Optional, dealer installed if I remember correctly. The fronts always get loose, the rears never do.
