Transmission error codes 850 93

I'm looking for a list of the error codes for the '93 trans. Although my Haynes manual says the trans uses the OBD II system (requires scantool) I have seen messages here that indicate the codes can be read at the A-1 module. My arrow light and the light at the sport/econ switches are flashing and the trans skips second gear.

I checked the Volvospeed site but didn't find them there but lots of other good information (thank you Shane). One other strange thing, the problem and the flashing light has come and gone a couple of times.

I will appreciate any help.

    You certainly can read the codes directly from the engine.

    Try

    CheckEngine.htm

    which is on Volvospeed/Bay 13.

      A few other thoughts...

      By the sound of it, once you get the codes from the engine bay you may need information on ATF changing and/or PNP switch replacement. You can also find these on Bay 13.

      ATF flush

      switch change

      Before you change the PNP switch you should try what is called a "ratchet clean" of the PNP which is done by moving the transmission selector back and forth all the way about 15-20 times to clean the contacts in the switch. Search the board for postings on ratchet cleaning process and info on the dirt that accumulates inside PNP switches. I would post it here but I am away from my home computer.
