How hard to match platinum 850 paint 850

Does anyone know how hard it is to match a body panel on a platinum 850 edition? I came across one for sale and the hood and front & rear bumpers need paint work. Seems like it would be hard to match on a 15 year old car. I like the color but I need to factor paint costs if only the dealer can shoot the paint.

My local body shop, owned by a Volvo dealer, never has had any problem matching the paint on my 96 854t5 platinum. Find the right body shop.

    Good luck.

Autobody shops do paint, not the dealer. And any metalic paint is hard to match, especially after 15 years of fading. Bumper paint is different than metal paint, the plastic bumper requires more elasticity.

Painting just the hood will be tough, the fenders will not quite match.

Would it be any worse than other metallic colors or will platinum white be even worse?

Mr. Norm is correct. You get what you pay for. Ask the dealer where they send body work to, it won't be cheap but it could be a good match.
