Does anybody know if a 1998 V70 turbo transmission is a suitable replacement for 1999 v70 NA? Any known compatibility issues etc. advice? I am pretty sure the 98 to 99 will work but turbo to NA?
I have the engine out, just need to locate a suitable replacement transmission.

    There is no hardware difference between a 1998 and 1999 tranny, regardless of turbo/NA. You could use a 2000, so long as it is a 4 speed.

    What is different is the software, there are TCU upgrades on the 1999 due to the ETM.

      Thanks Klaus, would the present 99 V70 NA software function with a 98 turbo transmission or would I need to change/update the software? I'm assuming the software controls the shift points as I would imagine the turbo has a different power curve than the NA? I did get a recall dealer ETM software upgrade installed a few years back.

        The turbo and NA cars have the same physical tranny. The difference is the TCU, which you keep from your car.
