DIY resource for XC/V70 2001-2007

I came across this impressive list for P2 cars:

http://www.v70xc.com/resources/how-to/

Fun reading and might be helpful to others. If you have a P2 V/XC 70, you might just want to copy the URL to your Favorites list.

Sure is. ¿How much of the XC stuff is applicable to the V70T5, 2001?

Much of it is. Big difference is when you add the second set of driving wheels and all the gears that go with it.

Hope the turkeys were good to you in Oklahoma.

Thanks, Dick. I had heard that the added complexity also added some unreliability over the long haul.
The FWD certainly seems to give me sufficient traction except on glare ice and I suspect
that glazed hills would not be much better with AWD.
Little or no backtalk from turkeys - once in a GREAT while we see a wild one in the yard and I wonder what it would be like to eat one. They tend to frown on my use of my .50 caliber muzzle loading rifle inside the city limits though.
Wild west days are about gone, even here.

If you ever use a .50 caliber on a turkey, make sure you hit the head, otherwise there won't be anything to stuff!

Not all of the threads are for the 2001. The 2003+ got Haldex which made the AWD much more reliable but a little slower to react.

AWD or FWD makes no difference on glare ice, you still are relying on the front brakes!! If God tells you not to start driving, don't insist on making a fool out of yourself and adding sheet metal to the pick&pull.

Take care down there,

Klaus

It is a muzzle loader so I suspect that it would mostly be a ½" hole in it unless the giblets decided to burst.

As long as the road isn't too steep the V70 does pretty well on glare ice.
I had an incident about 2 or 3 years ago that took me quite a while to get home. The ice came while I was at a jam session. I gave a lady a ride home who lived on a ridge one valley over from the ridge I live on. I got to her house and was less than half a mile straight line distance from my house. I drove down into the valley but the several streets that go straight up to my ridge were too slick and too steep. I could get about halfway up before I lost traction and slid back down. The one street I could finally get up lead straight away from my house but it took me to a highway that intersected another highway that crossed my ridge. I ended up taking almost an hour getting from her house to mine. I was pretty scared a few times - If I hadn't been able to get to the highway I probably would have parked and walked in the yards to get home. I was reluctant to leave the bass fiddle in the car though and even more reluctant to carry it on ice!
