ANSWER change fuel injectors S60 2001

The hard part is getting the fuel line disconnected from the rail. On my 1998, I just loosened the fuel line and then pulled the injector rail off with the injectors. Do not pull on the rail, it will bend, use a 15mm wrench to help pry each injector out. Work from one side to the other. Once the injectors are free of the manifold, turn the rail so you can remove the screws on the back side. Watch out for the O rings! They will fall off and disappear.

I can only wonder why you want to replace them.

I wonder why you want to replace them as well.

Unless you're putting higher capacity injectors in, and are getting a corresponding ECU tune, and probably intake/exhaust/turbo upgrades as well, I would recommend you stick with your original OEM injectors.

You can search this board and any other till you're blue in the face, I'm willing to bet you will not find many cases of failed or gummed injectors. Maybe you won't find any at all. The original injectors seem to be very good, or at least well suited to these engines. They are lasting 200k, 250k, 300k miles and more.

Buy good gas (no ethanol if you can find it) with the proper AKI rating (see your manual), use injector cleaner every once in a while, use synthetic engine oil, and give the old girl an 'italian tune-up' every now and then when your oil is good and hot. You won't have any problems with the injectors you have now.
