I'd guess you're talking about brakes

and AFAIK the S70 does NOT have such a valve.

Easy enough to confirm...look under the rear axle and check for linkage to a device with brake lines coming in/out of it. These valves tend to be hydraulic although I wouldn't rule out an electronic system.

FWIW, it's not necessary. Most ABS systems these days are biased towards the rear, or rather, less front biased than they would be without ABS.

So there is adequate rear brake torque under load and the ABS will simply relieve rear brake torque if the tire accelerates.

Which is another reason that when you hit the brakes for a hard stop, hit them HARD, not just until you feel the ABS work. The ABS might just be working the rear tires and not maxing out the fronts.

Re: I'd guess you're talking about brakes

The MY2000 S70’s do have EBD (elect. breakforce distrabution). It sends extra force to the rear under all types of breaking, and can sometimes be felt through the pedal.....but its as strong a feeling as when the ABS kicks in.

    Re: load sensing proportioning valve

I've never heard of that term so I'll say no. Might you mean MAF meter or MAP sensor (like GM and some older Volvos used)?
