Upgrades S40-V40 2001

I have just purchased an s40. It has about 1000 mile son it and I am already looking into upgrading the airfilter. Does anyone know what adapters and airfilters I should check out. I also noticed this sensor close to the air filter. Will I be able to upgrade without interfereing with this?

    I'm curious, why do people here with S/V40s want to "upgrade" a perfectly fine OEM airfilter setup that works great? I highly doubt that changing it will do anything more than possibly cause more noise under the hood on full throttle and it'll add to your maintenance if not create new problems in the long run as I've also read here before.

    The OEM filter lasts 30K miles without problems normally, unless you're in a very dusty area.
