Concerned about headroom between models

So I am looking at buying a used 850 through maybe S70/80 models.

I have owned many models; 122, 140 240, and 740.

I had the least headrom in the 740 by a large extent. I am not sure why as when I look at all the specs online it was virtually the same on paper as the 240!

It was the main reason I had to sell the 740, even though it had low miles and was a great car otherwise.

So I am concerned about say an 850 or S70 as they look more similar to the 7xx series rather than the 1xx or 2xx series!

If you can let me know what you all think from first-hand experiance that would be great.

I am 6'4"+

And I am 6'7", I cannot drive a 2001+ Volvo because of the rearview mirror placement, it is below eye level. The FWD cars prior to 2001 are great, so long as the driver seat is powered.

If your 740 had a manual seat, it had a manual height adjustment ala the older cars. The floor pan on the 7/900 cars is higher than the 850 platform and the roofline is about the same.

The 850/70 cars have a very comfortable front seat, probably the best Volvo ever had. But, you need it powered to get the most range, especially if you have other drivers.

      wow you guys are TALL.

I am 6'0" and find it pretty comfortable in my V70. One problem I have is that I like to sit close to the steering wheel, and that puts my head a bit closer to the windshield that the designers wanted I think.

Also I have the seat bottom raised high - because I'm so close to the wheel, I need the seat high or my legs would be bent up too much.

I wish the steering wheel would come out towards me a bit more, but I can't do much about that.

I think if the airbag ever deploys it will probably break my nose!

I had a 760 before this and I found the headroom to be a real problem also. I can only imagine what you two would think of it.
