Three Mystery Beeps S70

My wife's car and I seldom drive it. I've not had this happen when I drive the car. VERY STRANGE!

Wife say: She is outside the car, door are closed but not locked, key in ignition. When she opens the driver door, she hears three (3) beeps, not chimes.
She can close this door and open any other door and hear the three beeps again.
This has happened twice. Other than the beeps, the car runs great.

I don't think she's slipper over the edge, but I've read the owner manual and can't find anything relating to the beeps.

BTW: there are no warning indicators on the dash panel.

What the heck is going on?? Thanks Jim

You can try it yourself. Leave the key in the ignition, close the doors, and wait for more than 30 seconds before opening a door. It is probably the alarm system, nothing else goes 'beep' on the car.

It should be on the same timed system as the door unlock via the remote. If you push the unlock and do not open any doors, the car will relock after about 30 seconds.

Tell your wife to make a habit of removing the key when she gets out of the car.
