Turbo Pipe S70

I recently purchased a 98 S70 T5. I noticed that on some turbo models the pipes is routed over the top of the engine and mine is on the side. Is there a difference in respect to performance between the 2? I see kits on IPD to reroute the pipe. Is it worth it? Any thoughts on the silicone hoses as well? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The reverse intercooler pipe is about 1 foot shorter and has fewer bends, this gives the engine faster turbo pressure and less lag. It is not cheap.

I would go for silicone vacuum lines first, to replace the rotting vacuum lines that are on your car. Then an IPD boost controller replacement. If you have money left over, the RIP kit is a nice addition.

Newer models come this way from the factory.
