I have recently noticed a fuel smell as well as increased fuel comsumption. I get the A2 315 DTC code almost everty time I get fuel. I checked the gas cap and it seems to be in place and tight.

    And the explanation is a little vague: EVAP system.

    What it is trying to tell you, there is a leak somewhere in the system. A hose probably dry rotted and your nose should tell you where that break is.

    From your description, it happens when you fill the tank. So check the hoses around the tank area, including the vent hose that goes up toward the gas cap.
