Your chap may want to try a Craig's list type of thing if they even have that in Canada. We usually post here to help eahc other with maintenance issues and such.

I did wonder about it but I don't know the value of an S70 and he contacted me from a listing I had posted in the Volvo Club of BC's advertisement column. I thought that if it was a really good deal it would be nice if a Volvo enthusiast was able to take advantage of it. I'm a 240 man myself and don't keep up with the values of newer Volvos. He told me he had advertised on Craig's List and other local media without much success.

But you are right. The forum is really for advice on repairs etc. and I wouldn't like to see too much of cars being advertised for sale. Won't be repeated.\

What you did was fine by me! A V70 for $1000 is almost giving it away, even if it has 300K Km on the odo. Your buddy needs to come up with a better advertisement. Words are free, and people want to know the maint history, what will need repair, what works great, pictures of a CLEAN car, etc.

Perhaps he is not asking enough for the car????
