R turbo exhaust manifold swap

I have a 2003 V70 2.4T FWD. I would like to put an R exhaust manifold on the car. Has anyone done this and if so how well does it work? Is it worth the $$ and time to do it and just how much of a job is this? Also, the car has a SMALL low pressure turbo which isn't what I like. Is there a better turbo to use, say like the one on the T5? Is there anything else that needs to be changed like injectors or what ever or is this a pretty slam dunk swap? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

R turbo exhaust manifold swap

I have a 1998 C70 HPT (T5). I installed the R-type manifold with no problems. It's hard to say if it has made a difference as I've got multiple upgrades (Short Ram Intake Kit, Turbo Intake Kit, IPD Heavy Duty Turbo Control Valve, Silicone Intercooler Hose Kit, and Silicone Vacuum Hoses.

All of these parts together gives my 222k C70 a heck of a lot of get up and go, but I'm not sure how much is due to the R-manifold.

It is not a slam dunk. The low pressure turbo probably won't fit on the R manifold. Even if it does, you will not gain any more performance. Putting on a HPT will mess up your computer, so you will need a new one of those also. Then, if there is more compression at boost, you will need to change the crank bearings and wristpins.........

If you want an R or T5, may I suggest you look for the complete car. Word of warning, the R is AWD and slower 0-60 than the T5. Of course, if you get an R or T5, then you want to change the "chip".
