Clicking type sound when I spun the friont wheels.................. S70 1998

We had about 2 inches of a snowy/ice mix this morning and when I cleared the car off and started to pull away, I noticed a clicking or tat-tat-tat-tat type sound coming from the front of the car when I spun the wheels a bit.
When I let off the gas the noise stopped. Also a similar sound occurs when I hard corner at higher speeds. Almost a whining type of sound.

Any thoughts what this might be? CV joints?

If you were going under 25mph, it could be the traction control activating the ABS.

Whining noise could be a wheel bearing.

Maybe you're hearing the traction control system working. Push the TRACs button on the dash until the orange triangle comes on the dash. Take it out and spin the wheels and see if the noise is present. If it isn't, then it's traction control.
