1998 S70 Coolant Leak S70

I have a 1998 S70, T5 with auto transmission. I just turned 101,000 miles on it. I purchased it with 91,000 and for the last 4 months I have to top off the coolant about once a month. When I park it in the garage I don't see any coolant leak on the ground nor when I park at work do I see anything. Is this a sign that my water pump is going? Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!!

I am on my 5th Volvo now. All of first 4 have had coolant leaks. 96 850 had small leak at bottom of expansion tank, cracked. The small hose that attached to the side would also leak sometime. replaced the hose clamp. 850, S70, V70 adn S60 all had slight leaks on the radiator at the plastic tank seams. every couple of months, add 6 to 10 oz of fluid. Never on the floor of garage, but you could see looking down with flash light on plastic pan that goes under the radiator and engine on later models. The V70 2001 is the only one that got bad enough to hit the garage floor. Just put a radiator in the '03 S60 right before I sold it so I could advertise it with NO LEAKS.

First, check the normal leak spots: the passenger side of the radiator where the plastic can crack and dribble out coolant. Check the coolant cap for cracks. Check the small hose from the tank to the engine area for dampness.

Do this with a clean paper towel. Any residual coolant will stain the towel blue/green and tell you what is leaking.

The water pump is behind the timing belt cover. Remove the cover and take a look with a flashlight and see if there is any coolant visible. Only if there is coolant visible, dry or wet, replace the water pump. Normally water pump failures do not happen until after 180K+ miles.

Might also want to check the floor mat
as heater cores tend to give up on these fellas. Also check transmission fluid color, if pink maybe a leak in the cooling portion of the radiator.
