car vibration ? upper engine stablizer fault ? 850 1995

My car while engine start and vibration come from everywhere , include steel wheel , and my seat back ....

My upper engine mount had already cracked and I had order a IPD stablizer , still wait for it for shippment . does the cracked upper

engine mount makes series vibration ?

Or if the other engine mount may cause it , how can I make sure which mount is fault ? I have look at the engine mounts under the car and they all looks fine , at engine acceleration ahd engine didn't rocks very seriesly . But my in the room of car vibrations on steel wheel can even make my hand paralytic ....

Anyone who can tell me how to find the vibration cause ? thanks !

(don't tell me just shut down engine ^_^ )

WARREN LEE, JUST SHUT DOWN ENGINE. MAYBE SOMEONE PUT A HARLEY ENGINE IN YOUR VOLVO. JUST KIDDING - COULDN'T RESIST ADDING A LITTLE HUMOR. CHECK UPPER ENGINE SBALILIZER MOUNT WHICH BOLTS TO FIREWALL AND CYLINDER HEAD. ALSO, CHECK FRONT ENGINE MOUNT NEAR CRANKSHAFT PULLEY; both are known to go bad occasionally. Good luck!

      Hi Everyone !

I have check the engine mount near front right wheel and close to crankshaft pulley , it's broken due to plastic areas are fragle , and the pin of it had no support from mount , so it do no vibration absorbent .

after replace it from buying at carparts store for $50 and installation for about $ 10 , it's much better than before .

And I have also repace the stabilizer link of front left wheel , for $40 (include installation) . It's slove my noise ' koo koo ' very low frequency from suspention , while the wheels fall in hole on road .

I have also take a picture for installation of above process . I will try to put them on the web for everyone require to know how to detect their engine is fault or not .

Thank you guys help me a lot !

The upper mount will not cause much vibration. You really don't even need the upper mount.

Re: car vibration ? upper engine stablizer fault ? 850 1995

Look at the front engine mount just behind the crankshaht pulley. There is an oval shaped pin going through the mount. See if the pin is laying at the bottom of the slot in the mount(looking from front or back side of mount). If it's at the bottom, the mount is collapsed, and must be replaced. Have not seen the other two mounts fail yet. Have replaced many of the front mounts. (fron end of engine) To replace, remove right front wheel, loosen and fold back fender liner, support front of engine with floor jack with a piece of wood to dristribute the weight, remove the two bolts through the mount into engine, two bolts holding mount to subframe, replace mount and reassemble.

ThankS everyone tell me so much about the engine mounts .

but I just can't make sure which mount you said behind crankshaft pulley ( sorry I am not good both in english and engine ) , I think it is the SIDE MOUNT is close the 'timing belt cover' ? ( part number 9135178-3 for mount and 9135179-1 for bracket )

and MR BOB say to look at the oval pin .... But I am not quite clear to understand MR BOB said .... (Sorry ...) I will check it by my way at this saturday and sunday .Maybe I will take a picture of my side mount please everyone to diagnosis for me .

Thank you everyone again !! ^_^
