Mysterious coolant hose.. C70 1998

Alright, I keep seeing this part, I even have a spare, but even after taking my engine down to the block, pulling out the turbo... fighting with banjo bolts and eventually replacing my exhaust manifold - along with almost every hose in the engine, but I've never seen this thing.

Part No. 9 in this diagram.


I know my 1998 is a *late* 98 (mechanical timing belt tensioner), but this is listed as belonging to every C70 from 1998 until 2004.

Does anyone have a photo of this thing installed? I can't believe I can't find it. I'm planning to upgrade to a couple more silicone hoses, this is one of them, but I don't want to spring for the cost unless I can f

Hello, it is pretty well hidden. Follow the pipe that runs under the exhaust manifold, just past the turbo is a nipple coming off the pipe and the hose is attached to that and to the pipe that goes to the turbo. The hose has different end sizes so I stock it. Pauli

AH... I think I can find that. It would have to be my least favorite place to work under the car...

You can get an OEM-shaped blue silicone hose set. It's about $40 for the elbow and the bridge hose kit. Which is a bit pricey if you're not sure you need both...
