ABS tone ring replacement V70-XC70

Getting abs fault and warning on msg window, had car checked out at dealer. Turns out the RF tone ring is cracked. Has anyone had the pleasure of replacing? Have not dived into yet, but from what I can see looks like the brakes, splash shield and hub need to be removed to get to? I can reach thru on the bottom and with a small screwdriver, actually start to remove the ring since its not of heavy gauge or weight. Can the new one be pressed on w/out removing the half-shaft? Thanks in advance. BTW, dealer has lots in stock since they are starting to see more and more of these come in due to rust!

Rule308 is correct, the tone ring is mounted to the axle. Just remove the axle and then??? I do not know if the tone ring is a separate part. It comes with replacement axles already mounted.

"brakes, splash shield, and hub" huh? Would it be easier to just pull the axle?

Mine went due to rust. I just pulled the axle. The new ring needs to be heated until red, very red and then put in place of the old one. Get rid of all rust etc. from the area you take the old ring off.
