Key less Remote Programming V70-XC70 2001

Hello to all Volvoers, I just tookover a 2001 v70 xc with just one key, then I got a Remote from ebay, but it needed to be programmed at the Volvo dealer. I took it to the Volvo dealer they told me that they need the programming codes ( which I don't have). Is there a way that it can be programmed or how the code numers can be obtained. Thanks to you all.

    I hope you dinged the seller for having only the one key. Remotes from Ebay will not work, you lost on that one. The dealer needs to have the 'code' that came with the remote in order to program it to your car.

    As far as I know, the dealer has you over the barrel and if you want a new key or a combination of key/remote package, then you have to pay the dealer for the parts and the programming - not cheap. Last I heard it was over $250 and climbing.

      Not cheap is right. I too only received 1 key with the 2003 V70 I purchased off ebay last fall. I had to go to the local Volvo dealer here and purchased a key and keyless entry fob and programmed. All told the total amount came to $336.61. But the wife and daughter are happy. Thats all what counts.
