New tires every 30K S60

I have a FWD 2001 S60. I keep it aligned, with balanced rims, proper inflation and have tires rotated ever 7500 miles. I like the Toyo Versado LXII H rated (very comfortable ride), but go through them every 30K. Website says they should last closer to 80K. Before that I used firestone tires and went through them quickly as well. When rotating you can tell the front get much more use than the back ones.

Any suggestions? Or am I just destined to get new tires every 30K

Could be worse.

I have seen a Ferrari with 5K and worn-out tires!

They gave me a discount on a new set of 4 h-rated toyo's for the millage under the 60K warranty. They did say the tires looked like there were some alignment issues so I'll consider myself lucky.

My hunch (well, maybe more than a hunch) is that Volvo sets alignment specs that are based on the best driveability vs the longest tire life. A guy I work with owns an XC90 and he has horror stories about front tire wear. He's had it back at the dealer numerous times and I believe he's even tried an independant shop. But they all just set it by the published numbers and 15,000 miles later his tires are shot.

Just curious - what part of the front tires are wearing out? (inside edge, outside edge, etc.)

One way to get 60K from your tires is to buy a tire with a 60K warranty. If you only get 30K you get the next set at half off. Michelin now makes a tire with an 80K guarantee.

Right on the spot, buy from a reputable tire dealer and take advantage of the warranty....places like Sears don't want someone complaining about unfair tire wear in the waiting area so they will help you no problem. I am personally a Michelin fan, once the BF Goodrich Super Sports are worn out (this fall) I plan to fit Michelin sneakers all the way around, MXV4's. FYI BF Goodrich were brand new when I got the car, about 15k mikes into it and the tires are half worn, I am on par for your 30k mile estimate.

I think the MXV4's are rated for 55k. 80k tires scare me, great concept but what are you giving up to attain the 80k? I'll take my gamble on the MXV"s, I remember how incredible my old 240 and S70 cars were when these were on all four corners.

I put 4 MXV4's on my 850 wagon last winter. Expensive but worth it as they are the best all-around tire I've ever found! Warranty is 60k.

It really depends on your driving style. Some of those VT roads are just too much fun to ignore :>)

I usually get 60K per set of tires, but a lot of my driving is long distance Interstate at 75mph. I also don't use my brakes much, and never make my tires complain during cornering.
