v70 t5 - starting problems on hot day

Have a 2002 v70 t5 wagon with 140k. On the road in yesterday's high heat - stopped at some stores, car wouldn't start after sitting in parking lot. Tried a couple times. Waited 30 seconds and then it started. Finally started. Alternator was recently replaced - 4 months ago. Started right up this am - cool morning. Any known areas to look would be great appreciated. Thx JK Volvot5er

Any guess is a good guess in your description of a one time event. I doubt that your new alternator is a problem, the battery had plenty of charge.

When is the last time you replaced the cabin filter? The air drawn through the filter also comes from the computer box in the engine bay and keeps the circuit boards cool.

To anyone else reading this, never run the car with the cabin blower turned off or the recycle switch on for any length of time. Either of these conditions can destroy the engine computers!!!
