S-70 SEDAN 850 1996

I am interested in upgrading to a s70.

Which is a better year 1998,1999, or 2000.

I have never owned a volvo with a turbo what do you think of the low pressure turbo on the s70 .

Does it require more service?? more oil changes? use more gas?

Please advise.

    Re: S-70 SEDAN 850 1996

My personal opinion is that the 2000 S70 is the better choice mainly because it is smoother and it has the new 5-speed automatic transmission which gives you slightly better highway mileage and much better acceleration. FUrthermore, any 2000 model has more gadgets available to them (i.e. automatically dimming rearview mirror) because of the integration of multiplex electronics.

The turbo models (GLT and T-5) will use mlre gas but the difference is not huge. More maintenance? Again, very small differences...Same oil and filter change intervals.

If you can get a GLT that is a very nice car but the N/A S70 is a neat car!

    Yannis
