2001 xc tranny replacement V70-XC70

My 2001 tranny has bit it! I want to replace not rebuild and my question is will the transmissions from the 2005, 06 models mate up without modifications? I have a found one in a salvage yard (05) with a working tranny but wanted to check before making the purchase.

    Geartronic to geartronic swaps should be OK. Verify that the 2005 has 2.4L engine, that might make a difference. Volvo has no online doc giving the AW number of the trannies.

    If you get the 05 tranny, make sure you can also get the TCM that goes with it. Even if the tranny physically bolts on, it is the electrics that bother me the most.
