Someone help. No blower motor on any speed for AC or heat. Tested blower it works fine. Pulled resistor it seems fine. Not ECC it is Mechanical system. Help please

As the brushes wear out they loose contact with the armature and it stops running. When you connect it directly to a battery the sudden application of 12 volts will jump the gap and it will start spinning. The motor is very easy to take apart and repair. Pry out the plug adapter and remove one screw on the end of the motor housing. The brush wires can be unsoldered from the mounting board and slipped a bit to allow the brushes to make contact again. I've done this and my motor is going on two years.

How did you test the resister ? Mine was replaced too due to no motor spinning at speed #3.

You might want to pull the MCC out of the dash, pull off the nobs and take out the two screws. It is not a complex unit. Then you can clean the contacts on the rear of the unit.

Fixing a switch is a little harder because the faceplate needs to come off to get to the contacts.

Time for a fuse check? The blower speed switch usually does not fail, but it could be a problem.
