Hi all...another project car for $500! 96 850T White wagon...lovely.

I am replacing my injector O ring seals and I have found these spacers in some of the manifold ports (2 of 5 found).

How important are these? They just sit in the manifold hole prior to slipping in the injector.

I intend to install the injectors on the rail 1st and then push them into the manifold ports.

It would appear these spacers keep the tip of the injector from hitting the manifold port lip. Seems if I put them on the rail 1st, the tips will not go that deep into the port holes to hit the bottom lip.

I don't recall seeing any spacers on my 1995 turbo. Are all of your injectors the same?

While the injectors are out, try fitting them into the manifold and make sure the O rings hold them inplace and are tight. Use a 15-17mm wrench like a pry bar to remove them gently.

Note it calls for "Spacers" on the top of the injector, and "Sealing Ring" on the bottom. Also, different sealing ring for auto trans??? Now that's kinda odd.

weird, the P.O. mechanic must have monkeyed on this...

I had 2 spacers (#6) in 2 out of the 5 manifold ports....wrong! It must F up the spray pattern!
They should be installed at the top of injector inside the rail ports.

I also dont have the retainer bracket #20. I can live with out that.

How'd the turbo rebuild go? Difficult? Did you just order the Mitubishi rebuild kit?

Easy. Hardest part was getting the big snap ring off...need a good ring tool.

Kit was $100+ genuine Mistu off Ebay. Seller is Authentic Boosting

Did you have it balanced? I'm read both yays and nays about the real need to have it done.

I did not. I just marked the relationship of the turbine wheels with respect to each other with a black sharpie.

I did not R&R the inner rings either.

Find a nice table and sit down. Do not drop anything!

Get some lacquer thinner to remove varnish of bearing shaft so the bearings can slide off an on.
