Current Record on Forum for Highest Miles on 850 850 1994

I currently have 170,738 miles on my 94 850. I was just wondering if anyone else had an 850 with more miles on it than mine. Do I have the current record?

    I've got 182,300 miles on my 1994 855T. Still have the original tranny and A/C Evaporator. The only things that have been replaced have been the fuel pump, a wiring harness (Tech Service Bulletin stuff), 02 Sensor and 3 sets of tires and brakes and the A/C Condenser. Replaced the Front rotors once. Other than that I haven't had any real problems withthe car.

    My goal is to get at least 300,000 on it before I need any major engine work.

        I have 122.5K on my 1994 850.I am looking forward to see it turn 200K.Second transmission and second fuel injector set(5)and water pump.

      OK, you have me beat (’94 854 na, 156600 miles), and I like your goal of 300,000 until major engine work. Mine runs fine, but I am burning over 1 qt of oil between 3,000 mile oil changes (Mobile One 10w30). 3 batteries, 3 sets of tires (no abnormal wear), and getting a new windshield today (light scratches and pitting from normal highway driving). (Replaced the over-engine mount by ipd, and all the other typical 850 idiosyncrasies). Still getting good milage and performance overall, and keeping up with volvo service schedule.

        I hope my volvo holds up that well. I have a 96 Turbo Sedan with graphite leather that looks like it survived the invasion of Normandy. Most 850s I see have the same crap leather that is cracked. The earlier 960s seem to be much higher quality hide. Wonder if they misfed the cows in Northern Europe...

        PS. There has never been a color that shows more marks,scratches and nicks more than Color 417---Nautic Blue Metallic. But I still love it.

          Yes, I have the same dark metallic blue on my ‘94 854, and it is difficult to conceal any scratch on it. My driver’s seat also has the cracks (open, where you can see the foam underneath). I bought the “miracle product” GS27. That stuff almost corrected the scratch….but only by causing a lot of other scratches around the original one!!! It does not work like they promised. Note that they use a white car on the infomercial for it.

        I have 172535 miles on my 854 Turbo (1994). The car gets 26+ MPG highway, still can do 140+ MPH, looks great and rund like a top. Just had Maryland emissions test done, was "Fast Passed" by the computer! The tech about fell out of the drivers seat when he saw the results of the treadmill test. He was deadset sure that the car was going to fail for something because of the high mileage! (Chump!) Its a Volvo, not a Honda!!! To date everything in the car works, and looks new. My brother saw the car for the first time in October and thought I bought a new car from the dealer. He saw the mileage and asked if I was for real or not. He thought it was a joke of some kind. After driving the car he asked me where the original instrument cluster was hiding at. He put the car at no more than 20K miles! Man, do I love good engineering and craftsmanship! 300k miles...no problem! I'm ready, and so is my turbo-brick!

          93 850 225,000 miles only replaced computer chip and normal maint. The bad news last night timing belt broke at 40k miles and that is an ouch.

            Jim,

            Did your belt break because your water pump seized? Just curious. That is low miles for the belt to break. Was it a Volvo OEM belt or aftermarket. If it was aftermarket, please post the name of company and I'll stay clear of it.
