Does anyone know if a 1998 XC70 uses the same shift lever indicator bulb as a 940 ? I replaced the bulb in my 940 with an LED equivalent and would like to do the same for the burned out bulb in my daughter's XC70.

Good luck - when we got our '95 855 base in 2001, the shift light was out, I got a bulb at the dealer and repaired it.

Six years later, the light went out in my '96 855R - when I went to the same parts department, the guy gave me four bulbs in a small plastic bag and said - One of these will fit!

Not a direct answer. The shift bulb and the ashtray bulb are the same, 14V. I have no idea what is in the 940.

Owner's manual has a list of bulbs in the back.
