Hello.
Trying to locate a rubber grommet/seal for the windshield washer container, more specifically the one that seals the rear windshield washer pump from the canister..Volvo on Long Island doesn't seem to know what I am talking about. Does not show up in an exploded parts view anywhere, as far as I can tell.
I can fill up the canister about halfway, which takes care of the front windshield pump, but if I go any higher it leaks out on the ground..
Seems the rubber basically disintegrated after so many years..
Found a pump on ebay that pictures the grommet also, but at $40, I would rather find the rubber piece first, as the pump is new (didn't come with the seal).
Any suggestions?

It costs me $2 to get into a pick&pull junk yard where the entire bottle with 2 motors would probably go for $5. Of course, it is 1 hour from my house, so figure about 2.5 gallons of gas.

You could look around for a seal at autoparts stores. I would make one with a hot glue gun??? After the hot plastic cools, it is impervious to water and alcohol.
