Any advice on load bars for Volvo roof rails? V70-XC70

I've got a Thule shell that needs to sit on bars. I have Volvo's rails on my 2004 v70.

Anyone have experience with aftermarket load bars on eBay ($49)? Original Volvo square bars are about $140-160.

I'm only using them once or twice...

Pick up the cheapest Thule set of racks you can find, make sure they are wide enough.

Remove the bars and attach them with some good tape. Put some tape to cushion the Volvo rails before you attach the cross bars.

That's what I have done with my old bars - works so well that I doubt that I will buy proper bars.

I bought a set of square bar 51" shameless Thule knock-offs, on eBay, for $50 delivered. They fit the rails fine.

Volvo uses Thule for the roof carriers and all hardware. Because you won't keep the bars mounted year round (I hope), any old cross bars should do so long as they are not too wide and the clamps do not damage the rails.

You might want to look at your local Craigslist.
